Study Guide

Postponement、Remedial exam and Reread

1. Postponement

Except for force majeure reasons, if the student is unable to take the test at the specified time, he must fill in the application form for postponement of the test and provide relevant certificates before the test (due to illness, the monitor or parents can handle it on his/her behalf with relevant certificates). The application form for postponement of the test should be approved by the dean of the School and goes through the recordation procedures at the Academic Affairs Office before the examination can be postponed, and the results of the postponed examination shall be recorded as fact.

Being absent from the exam without authorization will be scored as zero points, and no postponing procedures shall be applied. Those who fail the deferred exam or who are absent without authorization must retake the course. In principle, the postponement procedure shall not be re-applied after the examination. (See the detailed implementation rules for the application for postponement of the examination).

2. Remedial exam

There are both final exam and remedial exam for all the courses listed in the “Beijing Wuzi University Undergraduate Teaching and Training Program” for all majors, except for the general education elective courses. In principle, there are normal final exams for the general education elective courses, but there are no remedial examinations. Students can obtain credits by re-reading or selecting other courses. Remedial examinations are generally arranged at the beginning of each semester, and no application for postponement is allowed.

3. Reread

Those who fail the course assessment or have unsatisfactory grades can retake the course. There is no limit to the number of retakes within the specified study period. The final grade of the course will be recorded as the highest score of the course. Scholarship assessment and direct-entry into graduate school shall be based on the first grades of the assessment. (See the detailed implementation rules for the application for re-reading procedures).
