In 1990, Beijing Wuzi University began to accept foreign students, mainly exchange students from foreign friendly universities in small batches.
In 1993, with the approval of the Ministry of Internal Trade and the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Higher Education, the school officially obtained the qualification to enroll foreign students, and to carry out bachelor-degree and master-degree educational programs for international students, as well as to accept long-term and short-term exchange students.
In 2002, the school successfully passed the evaluation of foreign students’ education management organized by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission.
In 2008, the school was approved to become a scholarship program unit for foreign students in Beijing.
In 2012, in order to better integrate international teaching, scientific research and social service resources, the International School was established.
In 2018, the school was approved to become “the Belt and Road” Initiative scholarship program unit for foreign students.
Under the lead and the guidance of the school's party committee and the administration, the International School puts work emphasis on the talent training under the "Belt and Road" initiative, and makes the most of the construction of Beijing's sub-center to develop international education in China, aiming to tell better Beijing stories and better Canal stories, and enrich different forms of educational exchange programs in China.
Up to now, our school has received and trained more than 1,800 long-term and short-term international students from 22 countries, which has effectively promoted the internationalization of our school.
