In the afternoon of October 12, 2022, the "President’s Appointment" forum for the freshmen of Grade of 2022 was held in the cafe. Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President Liu Jun, Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President Lu Xianghong, Director of Logistics Management Office Ding Jian, Minister of Academic and Public Works Department Pang Bo, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Department Yao Guiyong, Deputy Minister of Academic and Public Works Department Liang Kewen and School Office cadre Li Dawei attended the seminar and exchanged views with 16 representatives of the 2022 freshmen class and 3 students from other grades. The meeting was hosted by Pang Bo, the Director of the Academic Work Department.

At the meeting, President Liu Jun communicated with the students to learn more about their feelings since they entered the university campus. Students expressed their thoughts about their bright vision of future, and their gratitude for the warmth they got from the school. The seminar was held in a relaxed atmosphere.

The teachers from the school office, academic affairs office and logistics management office replied to the students' opinions and suggestions immediately, and gave clear answers to specific questions.

President Liu Jun shared his own experience with the new student representatives and had further discussions with them. He firstly welcomed the arrival of the new students of Grade 2022 and gave full affirmation to what the students thought. The students were energetic, enthusiastic and mature, which eased the president’s worries about whether the students could adapt to their new school life.

President Liu Jun encouraged the students to pay more time on study to learn knowledge and grow talents, make full use of the curriculum, manage solid professional knowledge and get trained for excellent innovation ability. They should keep self-learning and scientific planning, and expand their interests according to their own situation. They should communicate widely with their classmates to learn from each other and embrace a wonderful college life.

At the end of the meeting, President Liu Jun gave the freshmen a gift: a notebook signed by the president and the book "Xi Jinping's Seven Years of Youthfulness", which represents his hope of students remembering the school motto, taking General Secretary Xi Jinping as their lifelong example. All the students are expected to be responsible and excellent new youth representing their generation.
