BWU and University of Putra Malaysia(UPM) Held a Video International Cooperation Conference

On the morning of June 29th, BWU and the Malaysian Putra University (UPM) held a Tencent Video International Cooperation Conference. Dr. He Mingke, Vice President of BWU, Han Xing, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department, Lu Yinan, Deputy Director, Dang Xinyu, International Exchange Commissioner; Dr Mohd Yusoff, General Manager of Education and Training, Botra University Malaysia, Miss Hartima, Education and Training Manager, Senior Education and Training Officer Manager Mr Hanif, Mr. KS Wong, Chairman of China-Malaysia Education Union, Mr. Zhong Zhen Yu, Chief Representative of China UPMET Learning Center attended the meeting.

Dr. He Mingke, Vice President of BWU, said that with the opportunity of the “Belt and Road” cooperation and exchanges, the two universities should take advantage of the geographical location of two countries, and he is looking forward to carrying out all-round cooperation and exchanges with UPM in the cultivation of doctoral talents, joint training of international students, culture and sports, and promote the level of cooperation between BWU and universities and educational institutions in ASEAN countries.

Dr Mohd Yusoff, General Manager of Education and Training at UPM, first mentioned that he would like to congratulate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of BWU, and affirmed the agreement reached by the two parties on the joint doctoral training project. He said that the establishment of the Chinese Learning Center of UPM in the International School of BWU, which is very important platform to promote the implementation of the joint doctoral training project, and also very much looking forward to the opening of BWU Overseas Learning Center at UPM. Both sides conduct joint training and cooperation of international students in a strong professional field.

Dr. He Mingke, Vice President expressed that the 12 students of BWU will apply for the Master's degree at the University of UPM, and hope to expand the two-way exchange of students in short-term, degree and non-degree programs. Dr. Mohd Yusoff, General Manager of Education and Training of UPM, said that students applying for UPM will be given the highest priority. Although the school cannot be opened in September, online teaching will be conducted according to UPM.

Introduction to UPM: Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is located in the Serdang region of Selangor, Malaysia. It was founded in 1931 and is a well-known research comprehensive public university in Southeast Asia. There are about 30,000 teachers and students in UPM. the main campus covers an area of 1,103 hectares, only 25 kilometers away from the downtown of Kuala Lumpur.

UPM is one of the largest universities in Malaysia and a key university to promote the growth of experienced and skilled human capital in Malaysia. In 2013, the School of Business and Economics and Business School of UPM won the AACSB top business school certification.
