On August 28, nearly 3,000 teachers and students of the school attended the opening ceremony of the new students of the class of 2023 at the athletic field at 8 a.m.. Wu Hui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, Liu Jun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President, Song Xiaoxin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Nie Fengjie, Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Zhang Xufeng, Vice President, attended the opening ceremony, which was presided over by Lu Xianghong, Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President.

The ceremony opened with the program "We are all dream chasers" brought by the choir and dance troupe of the university. All the teachers and students watched the theme video "Running to Youth, Running to the WuYuan" together, which recorded the freshmen's longing for the school as well as the teachers' expectations for the new students.

Wu Hui, the secretary of the Party Committee, wore the school badge for the representatives of the new students of the class of 2023 and told students that at that moment, this ceremony were hold not only to represented that the students had become the people of the Beijing Wuzi University, but also to represented that students would inherit the spirit of the university, which is "hard work, self-improvement, daring to be first and the pursuit of excellence", and that they would be vigorous and courageous to move forward to become pioneers and successors of the era who would take up the responsibility of national rejuvenation. All the students listening to the speech also solemnly put on the school badge for themselves.

President Liu Jun shared his insights on the topic of "Virtue and erudition, becoming a capable person", and sharing this lecture from the two aspects of "adult" and "success". He talked about how to become a "mature adult" who can take care of things and be responsible from five aspects, taking morality as the first, taking wisdom as the inner, strengthening the body with physical fitness, embellishing the heart with beauty, and nurturing the character with labor; and he put forward five expectations on how to become a useful talent who is responsible for the society and contributes to the country: he hoped that the students would keep their enthusiasm for study, master the university study method, be united in action, and actively participate in the study of the university.

Finally, President Liu Jun put forward the earnest expectation to the students: he hoped that the students can take the school motto as the guide for action, and integrate the spirit of "hard work, self-improvement, pioneering, and the pursuit of excellence" into their blood, so that they can feel the beauty of the Beijing Wuzi University with their heart, cast their skills with their sweat, and realize the dream of resonating with the motherland with their actions. I wish students spend meaningful college time, become ideal, dare to take responsibility, able to endure hardship, willing to struggle, and become a pillar of the construction of a strong country tomorrow!

Representatives of new students and current students showed their youthfulness and unrepentant youth through a vivid dedication, and the new students interpreted their understanding of youth, their desire for theuniversity, and their longing for a better study life in the future. The current students also expressed their welcome to the new students and their expectation to meet every challenge and opportunity together.

Teachers' representative Song Pingming, on behalf of all the teachers, welcomed the new students of the class of 2023, and he hoped that the students would be able to, as the sage Confucius said, to be knowledgeable in literature and courteous in manners, and that they should be able to shape and show a "gentleman's personality" of "courtesy" from the classroom discipline, examination discipline, academic honesty, and even from the words and actions of how to treat others; and that they should always remind themselves that " Paper from the end sense shallow, never know this matter to practice ".

Lu Xianghong, the standing committee of the school party committee and vice president of the school, awarded the flag for the military training group. Starting today, the first year of university students will carry out a two-week military training, students will be able to carry forward the style of hard work, not afraid of difficulties, do not dishonor the mission, the courage to go forward.
